Bluebird Bakery, York

We spotted the Bluebird bakery when we were visiting York Cold War Bunker and made sure we went back as it looked so good. We can certify it was absolutely as good as it looks.

Bluebird Bakery is a family owned bakery that started in York, they now have branches in York, Acomb, Malton, Leeds and Holmfirth. We stopped at the Acomb cafe for lunch after we had visited Holgate Windmill.

The photo is a shot of the bluebird Bakery from the other side of the road. It is a 2 storey building with a row of windows running around the second floor. The ground floor has a blue striped awning on either side of the central door and the building is painted blue. Bluebird bakery is painted in large letters above each awning and Good Baked goods on the end of the building. There is a wooden fence surrounding the outside seating areas on each side of the building.

The bakery and cafe has bench style seating inside so you can enjoy something to eat amongst the many plants or at their outside seating.

Firstly all the food is vegan or vegetarian which made me very happy as that meant I could have anything on the menu They have a selection of savoury baked goods, hot and cold sandwiches and cakes.

I had a flatbread, Andy had a Five Spice Roll and Pip a Brownie.

The food was delicious and there is lots of choice for sandwiches and baked goods.
