This was the perfect summer activity, so much fun, so peaceful and everyone was so friendly including the sheep!
Blooming Sheep is based at High Snape Farm just outside of Harrogate and is the most chilled way to spend some time.

What is it?
Essentially it is flowers and sheep, hence the name Blooming Sheep. They have a field full of wild flowers that you can pick (£7 for a jam jar and £20 for a bucket), an area for meeting the sheep, some very cool bell tents for afternoon tea and the Sheep Shack where you can get a coffee or some Brymor Ice Cream.
The sheep are Valais Blacknose Swiss Sheep and are very fluffy and very friendly! They’ll be your best friend for a ginger biscuit which is lucky because if you book a Meet the Sheep session, you will be given a cup of broken ginger biscuits to share* with your sheep. The Meet the Sheep session gives you half an hour in your own pen with a couple of sheep to either just hang out or take selfies with.
*there will be no sharing, the sheep will eat them all!
If meeting the sheep isn’t enough you can also book a Tea with Ewe session which gets you some time with the sheep and afternoon tea from Mama Doreen’s in your very own Bell Tent.
The Wild Flower field is free to visit, you just need to pick up a jam jar from the Sheep Shack and a pair of scissors and then start picking. The Sheep shack also serves teas and coffees, amazing looking cakes and Brymor Ice Cream.
Pip and I booked at Meet the Sheep session and brought my Mum and Dad along, my Dad loved learning about the sheep from the humans in charge of the Sheep. They all have names (the sheep although I am sure the humans do to) and personalties. We then had a lovely cafetière of coffee at the Sheep Shack and some cakes before picking a couple of bunches of wild flowers to take home with us.

Accessibility
The experience is all outdoor and in a field although fairly flat under foot. If you have mobility requirements it would be best to contact Blooming Sheep before you book.

We visited in August 2025 when Pip was 13.
