We stayed at Unique Hotel and Spa Resort in Ohrid for 7 nights. The resort is a 5 minute walk from the lake and 15/20 minutes walk from Ohrid Old Town.
Our Room
We had an apartment room which was huge. In the main area there was a double bed, a desk area with a small fridge and a seating area with a a small sofa, arm chairs and a TV.
Pip had her own room off the main area with twin beds which was brilliant as she is starting to complain about having to share a room with us.
We also had a large balcony overlooking the pool area with a table and chairs.
The room had a good amount of storage and plug sockets in sensible places. In addition to the fridge there was also tea and coffee making facilities.

The hotel
The hotel has 130 rooms although I don’t think it was full when we visited as we never had any problems with getting a table at breakfast or a sun lounger by the pool.
There is a small pool with sun loungers and a pool bar. We did find the pool quite chilly but there is always an option of swimming in the lake if the pool is too cold.
The hotel has a Spa which has jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. We didn’t use it while we were there but I did ask and they said Pip could use it too as long as she was with an adult.
I did have a sports massage which was very thorough and sorted out quite a lot of niggles.
There is also a well equipped gym.

Food
We were bed and breakfast which was served in the main restaurant and was a buffet with a selection of cereal, breads and pastries, cold meats and cheese and cooked items. Not the best breakfast buffet we have ever had but not the worst.
There is an option for an evening meal but we didn’t eat in the hotel.
There is a lobby bar and and also a pool bar that serves pizzas etc at lunchtime.
Location
The hotel is right down at the end of the main lake front in Ohrid and at the opposite end of the strip from the old town so in a quieter spot. You are able to swim in the lake near the hotel and there are grassy areas to sunbathe on. The hotel is currently sandwiched between the football ground and tennis courts and another hotel under construction although neither of these things affected our stay at all. We loved the hotel for the size of the rooms but after exploring the old town, I think if we visited again, we would stay there as it is more picturesque and nearer the beach areas and most of the restaurants.
As you walk long the lake there are several restaurants and cafes that are very nearby but a lot more further along the lake towards the Old Town. There is a small shop about a 10 minute walk away that we used for drinks and snacks. The lake by the hotel is perfect for swimming with easy access points, if you want beach style access you need to walk down in to the Old Town.

Our Thoughts
The hotel is nice and has everything you need especially if you are looking for larger rooms or a pool. It’s in a lovely quiet spot and has dining options close by. We loved the hotel for the size of the rooms but after exploring the old town, I think if we visited again, we would stay there as it is more picturesque and nearer the beach areas and most of the restaurants.
