Harewood circular and Highland Cows

Last week’s micro adventure was not only really, really lovely but also local and totally free!

Pip is doing Duke of Edinburgh this year so not only does she need to get her legs in training for that, she also has a mountain to climb for sports science next year! We’d agreed that we would start trying to do some regular walks in preparation.

On Sunday we did the Harewood Circular which is a 5 mile walk around the Harewood Estate. It’s one of my favourite local walks for beautiful scenery and is just the right length for a Sunday stroll. Not only did Pip voluntarily choose to walk the more hilly way around she also didn’t complain once.

We took cameras and had a lovely 2.5 hours chatting and taking photos without phones and distractions. The weather was glorious for mid-October although chilly in the shade so we had additional exercise having to take layers on and off at regular intervals.

We even found some Highland Cows who posed for a photo shoot for us and we managed a little side quest to Harewood castle which is always a beautiful backdrop for photos and we had the whole place to ourselves.
