It’s threatened snow all week but despite the rest of the country getting the white stuff, we were only granted a light dusting on Sunday morning.
We may not have got snow but we have had plenty of frost and ice so it has been a week of getting up early to defrost the car and shuffling along ice pavements.

This week’s adventure has landed me in trouble with Andy and Pip. I found a 9 mile walk and persuaded them in to joining me by dangling a meal at Bettys at the end of the walk and telling them it was only 7 miles. Anyway, turned out it was 11 miles so now I’m not allowed to pick walks unless they’ve been checked and pre-approved! It was however a lovely walk to John O’Gaunts reservoir and castle, slightly icy underfoot but there was sheep, cows, shetland ponies, paraglider and some beautiful scenery.

I definitely recommend Bamber and Brown if you like your coffee served in a tipi and of course Bettys for cakes at the end of your walk.
