Shops and Robber at Locked In Games, Leeds

Locked In Games is located in a former library building on Sheepscar in Leeds so already has a slightly creepy feel to it before you even start getting locked in a room with an hour to escape. We have done several of the Locked In Games rooms and really like the set up and the level of difficulty.

This time we were doing the ‘Shops and Robbers’ room where the aim is to steal the toy llama which is this year’s most coveted and sort after Christmas present.

The final puzzle has 3 locks and for each one you need to solve a set of puzzles and clues. We managed 2 out of the 3 sets of clues and in our defence it was a hard room for just 3 people and 1 of the 3 of us wasn’t really on top form.

As usual, you have an hour to escape the room and there is a screen in the room where your room host can communicate with you to guide you in the right direction.

It probably wasn’t our favourite room that we have done as it was a re-theme of the room we did last Christmas so although all the puzzles were different the look and feel of the room was very similar. We also didn’t manage to escape and when our room host told us the answer to the puzzle we had got stuck on, she couldn’t explain how we were supposed to have worked it out, which is going to frustrate me forever!

What you need to know

This room is family friendly and there is no lower age limit although under 14s need to be accompanied by an adult.

Shops and Robber has a difficulty rating of 4.5/5 and is for 2-6 players.

The building is not wheelchair accessible due to it being grade 2 listed and having steps to get in. This room is on the ground floor.

Some of the clues in this room rely on sound so you would need to have at least one person in your group who could hear the clues.

Facilities

Parking is available on the Roundhay Road or the small street at the side of the building.

There are toilets at the venue and they sell a small selection of refreshments (mostly canned drinks and chocolate) at the reception.
