RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka is situated in the Nakanoshima area of Osaka between the Dojima and Tosabori rivers. The hotel sits on top of a shopping centre and Keihan Electric Railway’s Nakanoshima Station.
The hotel is large, modern, comfortable and in a great location for getting around Osaka and surrounding area. The area around it is safe and modern.
Our room
We had booked a King standard sofa bed room although I think we may have had an upgrade as the room was really spacious for the 3 of us. We had a huge bed and Pip had a single sofa bed which was initially made up at the foot of our bed but in typical teenager behaviour, she immediately moved it as far across the room as she could.
The room was comfortable and we had a drinks station and fridge so we had somewhere to put our 7Eleven goodies and the option to make hot drinks.
The bathroom had a bath with a shower over it.

Facilities
The hotel has a pool, sauna and gym. The pool and sauna have a fee to use (unless you are staying in one of the Executive or Natural Comfort rooms), the gym is free to use.
Transport
The hotel is on top of the Nakanoshima Station for the Keihan Electric Railway, there are also other stations for different lines in the local area. The area is very walkable.
There is a free shuttle bus from the hotel to JR Osaka station which was very easy to use. It did get busy at certain times of the day though so if you have a train to catch then it is best to give yourself plenty of time. This doesn’t need to be reserved.
The hotel also has a shuttle bus to Universal Studios Japan which needs to be reserved in advance. .
Food and Drink
The hotel has lots of options for food and drinks.
There is a coffee counter in the lobby which also sells fancy chocolates and snacks.
The hotel has several restaurants offering a variety of cuisines (French, Japanese, Korean) as well as a buffet restaurant. We didn’t have the opportunity to eat in any of them during our stay except the breakfast buffet.
Breakfast is served buffet style and there was a huge amount of choice of food as well as a omelette station.
There is a 7Eleven beneath the hotel near the station which sells the usual 7Eleven options as well as hot food.
Our Thoughts
We loved this hotel, it was new and comfortable and in a lovely location. The breakfast was good and the staff were really friendly. The closeness to train stations and the shuttle to the main station made getting around really easy. We would definitely stay here again.
