Family History Hunt

My dad and I have recently gone down a family history rabbit hole so on Friday he came to meet me at work and we went for a walk around Leeds to see if we could match some photos we have with buildings. Unfortunately some of the buildings no longer exist or are now something else but we started in the 1880s and went right up to my Dad’s first job in the 1970s.

As we started near the University of Leeds we did a quick detour to visit the Marks and Spencers archive which was so much better than I expected it to be. It’s very child friendly with lots of hands on activities including a recreation of the original market stall that you can go shopping in, we really enjoyed a trip down memory land even though my Dad didn’t let me do the Percy Pig trail!

We ended our family history tour at Leeds Market and then went to Cafe Concerto to warm up and for toasted sandwiches.

And I also got to spend time with my Mum this week as we had tickets for the VIP shopping event at White Stuff where I definitely wasn’t going to spend any money (completely failed)!

Andy and Pip continued to have an amazing time skiing in very cold temperatures in Finland. Pip’s skiing and confidence has come on so much in the last week, particularly due to her having a couple of lessons with an amazing teacher.
