Wizard Walk of York

If you are too young for one of York’s ghost tours or don’t fancy the scariness then this is a perfect alternative. This 80 minute wander around the streets of York is guided by the Magic Hatter and is equal parts entertaining and amusing.

The Wizard Walk is suitable for all ages the walk is aimed at 5-10 year olds but the jokes and magic will amuse budding wizards of all ages.

Learn some magic spells and meet some magical creatures set against the backdrop of the streets of York. The interactive magic show takes you on a journey to find magical creatures from the Magic Hatter’s list.

What to expect:

You meet the Magic Hatter at the easy to find meeting point which will be sent out to you, by email, before the day. The group will then move to a quieter spot to start the walk. The walk takes in about 6 stops and at each stop there is some magic and entertainment.

The walk is interactive and children are encouraged to join in with the spells, answer questions and volunteer to be the magician’s assistant.

Accessibility:

The walk is suitable for all ages, there were several families with younger children in pushchairs. The route does take you along some of York’s cobble streets and some of the routes were very crowded so whilst possible with pushchairs, wheechairs or mobility scooters, it might be a little tricky at points.

The walk is outdoors so you will need to come dressed for the weather.
