This week started off full of that horrible fluey lurgy that everyone seems to have at the moment. I managed to feel better by Wednesday which was good because it was a busy work week and Wednesday took me to the Royal Armouries after hours. I’m really disappointed to report that the exhibits do not come to life after hours!

Saturday brought a visit to Christmas at Harewood House, I’d booked house entry for 4pm so that we could arrive in the daylight and also see the house and twinkly lights after dark. As it was pouring with rain it was very quiet in both the grounds and the house which allowed for lots of photos without other people in them.

Not an easy task but both the house decorations and the miniature trail round the house both hugely impressed Pip and the friend she had with her. They really loved it and Pip took some gorgeous photos. They commented on the music throughout the house which is orchestral versions of modern songs.

More fresh air on Sunday with a wander around Ripley Castle with my parents while Pip and Andy were playing golf. The gardens and grounds of Ripley Castle are open for free until the end of January and are really lovely. We also sampled tea and scones in the tearoom (for scientific reason obviously) and can confirm that they were delicious!
