Sequins and a very wet walk

This week’s adventures couldn’t be more of a polar opposite.

On Thursday I ditched the leggings and fleece and got dressed up in sequins to go on an actual grown up date night to Six by Nico in Leeds. We had a double date with friends to try the 6 course Nutcracker menu which was absolutely cracking!!! We’ve never done a tasting menu before because I am vegetarian and there is normally not a veggie option but Six by Nico has both meat an vegetarian options, they also did a half and half option for our friend who eats fish but not meat. I was also super impressed that they seamlessly dealt with my allergy and all my courses were as close to the original option as possible without killing me.

The food was excellent and I love the theme concept, only teeny complaint was that we were in the back room which wasn’t as Christmassy as the rest of the restaurant.

Sunday’s adventure couldn’t have been more different. Desperate for some fresh air and exercise, I made Pip and Andy join me for a walk around Eccup reservoir. The weather alternated between wet and very wet (wet cow for evidence) but as Pip’s Duke of Edinburgh expedition won’t be cancelled if it rains, she needs to do some wet weather training.

The walk was lovely (except for the muddy bit at the end) and we took a slight detour to have a drink in the newly reopened New Inn at Eccup. It’s definitely on the list for a Sunday lunch spot as the food looked lovely.
