London: Crime and Punishment

Every so often my sister and I take ourselves off to London and do all the activities, food and museums that no one else is interested in doing with us! There is usually a theme and last weekend’s was “Crime and Punishment” (to be honest, sometime the activities all fit a theme and sometimes we have to shoehorn one in!)

The weekend was busy! On Saturday; we had brunch, we walked up the Great Fire of London Monument (311 steps each way), we did a Jack the Ripper Tour, we then retraced our steps so that we could properly look at all the street art on Brick Lane and around Spitalfields, we ate Humble Crumble, we went to the Winter Lights at Canary Wharf and ate Le Bab paneer kebabs and then we had cocktails at Hexmoor Wizarding Prison. Just a mere 26,000 steps before we got in to bed!!

Sunday was much more sedate; we spent 90 minutes running around cells at Prison Island, we had a cup of tea at the Postal Museum, we visited the Sherlock Holmes Museum and saw Danger Mouse’s blue plaque, we visited Coal Drops yard and then ate Leon on the way home. Only 16,000 steps on Sunday!!

All in all a jolly good weekend!
