Premier Inn Hub – Kings Cross

We love Premier Inns but I think we love Premier Inn Hubs even more. Premier Inn Hubs are just like normal Premier Inns but compact and I love the futuristic concept of them. They also tend to be cheaper which is always a plus.

The downside of them is that they don’t do family rooms but it was just me and Pip on this trip to London so it was perfect for the two of us.

The hotel

Check in is at the kiosks where you type in your last name, find your booking, check in and set up your key card. It was quick and easy to use. There are also staff members on hand to help if you have trouble using the kiosks or need to ask anything.

Our bedroom was on the 4th floor and had a fabulous view of the trains coming in and out of Kings Cross train station. The sound proofing was excellent though and we weren’t disturbed by the sound of the trains, traffic or other hotel guests.

The room is compact. It has a double bed with a shelf area at the bottom that pulls out to create a desk in front of the window. There is a drawer and space under the bed for your luggage as well as coat hooks. The bathroom is also compact but has everything you could need.

Everything in the room is controlled by a touch screen panel above the bed that allows you to adjust the lights and temperature.

Food

The hotel offers breakfast for £7.00 per person served in the bar area next to reception. There is a mixture of continental and cooked options served buffet style.

There is also a limited dinner menu including vegan and vegetarian options. A selection of food and drink is available to take up to your room.

Around the hotel

The hotel is 5-10 minutes walk from Kings Cross station and the underground station. In the surrounding area there are several pubs, coffee shops and takeaways. The hotel is also a short walk from Regent’s Canal behind Kings Cross where there are some great shops and restaurants and a free outdoor cinema in the summer.

Accessibility

There is a lift to all floors and accessible rooms are available.

Child Friendly

The hotel is not set up to be child friendly but children are allowed as long as you don’t mind sharing a double or king sized bed with your child.

Left Luggage

There is the option to store your luggage before in check in or after checking out. It’s perfectly located so that you can pick up your luggage just before you catch your train.

  1. Love the concept of these- almost a capsule room, although not as capsule like as those you’d find overseas! Perfect for those trip when you really do just need a place to wash and sleep!
