Villa Mirakul – Sukošan, Croatia (near Zadar)

Villa Mirakul is in the coastal town of Sukošan which is a 10 minute drive outside of Zadar. It is a quiet holiday town where you can buy vegetables from locals in stalls set up in their gardens and walk everywhere. It reminded me of the small Menorcan towns than I visited on holiday as a child in the 1980s.

The Villa:

The Villa is walking distance from the sea, beach and town centre and is set amongst both holidays homes and local houses. The villa has 4 apartments and the garden room.

The 4 apartments are in the main building and are accessed through the front door and a communal staircase. The Garden Apartment is next to the pool.

Each apartment has a double bedroom, bathroom and small kitchen area with a sofa and small table. There is also the option to have an extra bed in the living area.

The Outdoor Kitchen:

Next to the pool there is an outdoor kitchen. This room is surrounded by sliding glass doors so can be a outside kitchen or an enclosed area when the weather isn’t as good.

The kitchen has a fridge, hob, barbecue, sink, kettle and coffee maker. The fridge is stocked with cold drinks and there is a bar with various spirits which operates on an honesty system.

There is also a large table which seats 6.

The kitchen can be booked using the sign up sheet so that it is fairly shared between the different apartments.

The Pool:

The pool is surrounded by olive trees and there are sun loungers and chairs for you to use as well as towels put out freshly each day. The pool has under water lighting for the evening and the kids loved be able to swim after dark.

Food:

The apartments are self catering and there is the option to cook in your apartment or in the garden kitchen. There are a couple of small supermarkets in the middle of Sukošan that are within walking distance and there are larger supermarkets on the outskirts of the town. There are a couple of different bakeries, coffee shops, ice cream shops and plenty of restaurants to choose from within Sukošan.

Parking:

Parking is available outside the front door for loading and unloading, for the rest of the time parking is available in a small car park opposite the villa.

Around the hotel:

The beach is a short walk from the villa, in the other direction the centre of Sukošan has restaurants, bars and shops as well as an amazing view of the harbour.

We visited in August 2022.. The website for Villa Mirakul can be found here.
