Go everywhere, Do everything

Located in Solin which is about 8km outside Split, this was a completely different accommodation from the rest of the hotels we stayed in during our time in Croatia. It’s a rustic property designed as a holiday home for larger groups, which was perfect for us as a group of 7. Set on the side of Mt. Kozjak, it has stunning views over Split towards the sea.

The accommodation:

The property is two buildings. The main building houses the kitchen, eating area and bathroom with shower and washing machine. Above the bathroom are two double beds which are reached by a ladder. There is also a small sofa bed underneath one of the beds.

The second building has two rooms each with a double bed and a toilet.

Outside there is a small garden with a barbecue and covered eating area. There is also a pool and sun loungers.

The host:

The host, Kresco, arranged to meet us at his own home and then took us up to the accommodation with us following him on his motorbike as it isn’t the easiest place to find. He was friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. When we discovered that the washing machine wasn’t working he came and collected a couple of loads of washing and brought them back later the same day, washed and folded.

Food:

The accommodation is self catering, there isn’t any shops or restaurants within easy walking distance.

Parking:

Off road parking is available at the property.

Around the accommodation:

There isn’t anything within the immediate vicinity of the property although there are several other homes in the area. One evening a very lovely elderly Croatian lady wandered past the house on an evening walk with her dog and 6 cats!

Split is an easy drive and Solin is at the bottom of the hill.

Zip Split is slightly further up the same road and you are able to watch people zip lining across the mountain from outside the property. (Zip Split will collect you from the house to take you up to the start of their zip trail, we’d highly recommend doing this).
