An hour spent with Harry is an hour well spent in our opinion!
Pip is not a fan of walking tours, we’ve done so many and she always says they’re boring, her feet hurt or there’s too much information. However she loved Harry’s Harrogate walking tour so much that she has asked go back and do part 2 and has excitedly shared the information she has learned.

What to expect?
The tour takes about an 75 minutes and takes in some and the key moments in Harrogate’s story. You will learn about how Harrogate became a Spa town from humble beginnings, the rich and famous who visited to take the spa waters, Harrogate’s role in WWII and some of the famous buildings and businesses. All done with humour and the very best ‘Dad jokes’and enthusiasm. Harry loves what he does and it shows!
The tour is scripted but Harry took time to individually meet everyone on the tour and learn their names, he added in snippets of information tailored to the interests of those on the tour and it was suitable for everyone. We really enjoyed and despite being Harrogate locals, we learned lots that we didn’t already know.

When and Where?
The tour starts opposite Bettys, look out for Harry’s yellow and blue sign. The winter schedule has tours 10.30 and 12.00 from Friday to Sunday with Free Walking Tour Part 2 at 13.30 on Saturday. The summer schedule has additional tours and is advertised on the Free Walking Tour website here.
